On modern bikes , the ones with electronic ignition , liquid cooled engines an ECU and sensors , in addition to ABS Brakes .. Traction Control , electronic steering dampers, adjustable shocks etc .. plenty can go wrong . These modern race and sport bikes are very complicated and difficult to service and maintain. If you buy a supersport or street bike . be sure to invest in a workshop manual , they are not cheap but worth the money ... They will help whoever you go to to fix your bike when a problem occurs . they also have OEM part numbers ... and lots of useful info . |

To get a Bike from the US , used or new , you must have someone you trust who knows about Bikes over there... Or you can put your trust in a reputable importer if you are getting a new bike ... used bikes are risky as you never know the condition of the bike you are buying ... could have serious damage expensive to repair . |

This bike cost $8100 from the US brought here by someone who imports bikes from the US , new and used. There is going to be a CBR600rr up for sale in a few weeks here in Alex . For a good price. Or would you rather import a new bike ? I actually know that if my bike was last year's model , I would be getting it nearly a couple of thousand dollars cheaper.. but 2013 was the first year they introduced the Ninja 650 ABS model so I had no choice. Also , used bikes can be problematic if something goes wrong. As you know the modern bikes are very complex machines with ECU's Electronic Fuel injection and very sophisticated engines and gearboxes ... Not many people here know how to repair them ... You need factory trained personnel who spent months in training and have the necessary diagnostic and repair tools. So its a gamble to buy an old bike. Its even a gamble to buy a brand new one , there is the chance that some manufacturing fault occurs and one would be helpless.. I am relying on Kawasaki's reputation , and with careful maintenance and sensible use one hopes no problems will arise . |
